After weeks of suffering horrible nightmares in which Adriana assumes the guise of War, the Guardian's old enemy, Ariadne
resorts to prayer in the attic. When she doesn't return later, Philip goes up to the attic and finds her unconscious
and without a pulse. He takes her to the kitchen where Valero and Casey make the discovery that her cells are replicating
themselves at an excessive rate. Ariadne's ageing process has been completely halted. She is immortal.
When Valero wakes her, Ariadne is filled with panic. She tells the growing crowd that she has no memory of anything
that happened after she began praying. Adriana has her confined to quarters, placing Krysta on guard duty to make sure
no one gets in without permission and that Ariadne doesn't leave.
Casey places Aster in charge of the investigation on what's happened to Ariadne since they share the same religion.
Meanwhile, she has a talk with Maze concerning the terms and conditions she is expected to abide by during his stay.
He informs her that Queen Darla has authorized him to do everything in his power to increase the efficiency of the Phoenix
House, even if it means overruling Adriana's authority.
Aster questions Ariadne, suggesting that perhaps a diety heard her prayers and granted her immortality. Unable
to sit around, waiting for people to solve her problems for her, Ariadne crawls out the window of her room and goes back to
the attic, playing out the ritual again with Pipira's help. Nothing happens, leaving Ariadne's spirits broken.
Philip, who has been thrilled with the idea of Ariadne's immortality, comforts her and they return to the room.
An alarm sounds through the House. Everyone gathers in the lobby and become shocked to see War standing, in the
flesh, with Amorette at his side. War teleports them both to the basement, but sensing his presence there, Ariadne and
Philip rush to the scene, Rinault and Krysta following. There is a great fight, during which War stabs Ariadne in the
chest while Rinault locks Amorette in the cage. Ariadne becomes enraged and teleports War to the attic via portal.
There he explains to her that he has come because Amorette is in danger. She has been infected with an engineered virus.
Ariadne sends War away, assuring him that Amorette's real friends will look into the matter. She seeks out Joey
and asks her to read her past and future, to find the cause of her immortality. Joey does so, reporting that the PTB
were the ones who made her immortal. Ariadne was destined to die in the fight resulting in the loss of a force of good.
In order for the PTB to balance out the reappearance of War, they made Ariadne immortal.
